Writing Update
I've shuttered my website seanreagan.com. I don't have a lot to say about that, other than it was time. Thank you for sharing that work with me.
Over at substack, I still write about my spiritual practice and study. For most of the past fifteen years, this has revolved around A Course in Miracles, but over the past year I have found myself shifting into a new space that holds "Christian," "Jesus," "nonduality" and "love" differently. The plan is to publish there on Mondays and (now and again) on Thursdays, and to be a little more explicit about how I interact with the world, especially around critical issues like nonviolence, race and food security.
I also write twenty-sentence prose poems here (the whole archive back to 2008 is hosted here, albeit less accessibly than I'd like). The poems typically publish on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The poems feel more intimate and far-ranging to me. They come from a deeper sense of self and so reflect a deeper sense of relationship. I also think they fall flat and get lost more than the essays! But who knows.
I'm hoping in spring to open up a space for dialogue around writing, prayer, and seeking peace with Jesus. I'll keep you posted. My life got turned around pretty dramatically over the past year, largely as a result of Marianne Sawicki's work on the resurrection, which completed something in me that had been flailing around unfinished for way too long. I'd like to talk about that more. I'd like to share that more.
My gratitude to Sawicki is immense. She was in some important sense, my last and best teacher. Without her intelligent and fearless work, Jesus would not have walked through the locked door of my heart, and I would still be lost in a wordy purgatory pretending it was enough. It wasn't but I couldn't see that clearly. All the pieces were there but the picture they made was hidden from me. It's not anymore.
Anyway - I appreciate your presence and willingness to share the journey. If you want to share the road a little further, I'd like that.
